PIC (Person in Charge) Checklist and Guide
THIRD TROOP MEETING BEFORE (THREE WEEKS OUT):
- Contact Tour Permit Coordinator to start the process of obtaining the needed Tour Permit. Identify any unusual training requirements such as flat-water canoe training for adults, and blue-bead swimming for scouts. This process should determine gaps in training of scouts and adult leaders (e.g. if you are planning a trip on water, all scouts must have passed blue-bead safe swimming, and you need adequate adult leaders trained in canoeing). Work with Scoutmaster to fill training gaps in advance of the campout or activity.
- Ensure SPL announces campout or activity and that forms are passed out
- Collect sign-up/permission forms, money and medication forms.
- Start compiling attendance spreadsheet, tracking money, tracking adult leader attendance, etc.
- Turn over any checks and cash to Treasurer as you collect them, along with your tracking spreadsheet
